Officer Larry Howard was killed in an automobile collision while making an emergency medical transport to the local hospital.
Officer Howard was driving with emergency equipment activated on Ladue Road, taking an expectant mother to the hospital, when his vehicle was struck broadside by a truck at Lindbergh Boulevard. Officer Howard was pronounced dead at the scene. The pregnant woman suffered a fractured skull and broken pelvis. The baby was delivered but died two hours later.
Officer Howard served with the Creve Couer Police Department for two years. He served in the US Marines in Vietnam. He was survived by his wife and two children. Interred: Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Pagedale, MO.
