On December 16, 1908 at 10:30 pm, Officer Benjamin Fox died from injuries sustained to weeks prior. Officer Fox had been on night duty and was making an effort to catch some suspicious characters when he fell and was injured. He contracted blood poisoning and erysipalis from an abrasion on his left leg that resulted in his death.
Officer Fox also previously served as a constable for Salt River Township. He was survived by his wife and three children. Interred: Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
