Officer Harold Woolery was held down and stabbed to death in the Kansas City, Missouri railroad yards. Just before dawn, Officer Woolery ordered seven transients sleeping in a boxcar to leave and a fight ensued. During the altercation Officer Woolery was held down by two of the men while another stabbed him. Officer Woolery died from his injuries.

Officer Woolery was survived by his wife, Edith. Interred: Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
