On June 16, 1991, Deputy Harold Voege was killed in an ATV accident
Deputy Voege had been participating in a search for an 90 year-old man who had walked away from his home and Deputy Voege was returning to a gathering point to rejoin the search group. Enroute to the gathering point, Deputy Voege attempted to turn on a downhill stretch of gravel road in a heavily wooded area and lost control of the ATV.
Deputy Voege was 30 years old was also a deputy chief of the Current River Volunteer Fire Department. He was survived by his wife. Interred: Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
