Officer Edward Kuehner succumbed to injuries received two months earlier when he was enroute to a burglary call when his patrol car was struck by an eastbound streetcar on Market Street near Grand Avenue. Officer Kuehner never fully recovered from his injuries and contracted blood poisoning, which led to his death on November 12, 1923.
Officer Kuehner had served with the agency for 3 years. He was survived by his wife, Celeste, and six children. His father, Albert, was a commissioned "Turnkey" for the department at the 8th District. Interred: Calvary Cemetery.
