Officer Charles Hogan succumbed to injuries received two weeks earlier when he was struck by a car.
On November 25, 1955, Officer Hogan was preparing to direct traffic at Laclede and Theresa during evening rush hour. He was struck by a car as he stepped off of the curb into the heavy rush hour traffic. He died from his at City Hospital 13 days later, on December 8, 1955, .
He served with the police department for 28 years and was assigned to the Ninth District. He was survived by his wife, Anna, and two children. Interred: Omalley Cemetery, Blooming Rose, MO.
